 A Touch of Class

  The House of Ismon
Stands alone,
Victorian structure
Built on stone,

Its sides of brick,
Arched windows tall;
Octagonal tower
Frames one wall,

A basement and
Three spacious floors
Where century-old
Memories are stored.

Here gentlemen met
At each day's end
To talk, play cards,
Smoke good cigars--

Here ladies' met,
Discoursed, drank tea,
And housed a
Lending library--

Here youths' gymnastics,
Golden Gloves;
Here dancing lessons
Awoke young love.

Now Ismon's Friends
Will soon restore
This lovely, elegant
Lass of yore,

And open wide her
Doors at last
To all who seek
A touch of class.
